Children’s Hospitals Week kicked off on Monday, April 19 through 25 to help raise funds for Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Universal Media-Analytics partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hershey as a sponsor to help raise vital funds during the event.
Over the course of the week, donations were raised for the Children’s Miracle Network Patient Assistance Endowment. This year’s goal was set at $100,000 to raise funds to support 200 families.
The patient assistance endowment provides funds for families who have exhausted other forms of payment, including insurance. Families whose children face serious illness or injury receive access to funds through the endowment, such as food boxes and meal vouchers, clothing vouchers, gas cards and taxi fare, support for prescription medication and durable medical devices.
UMI served as the Children’s Hospitals Week Online Matching Gift Sponsor, agreeing to match all online donations to the endowment up to $10,000. UMI, along with other local businesses, assisted in raising a record-breaking total of $120,361 for the event, more than $20,000 over the original set goal.
Ann Shields, Executive Vice President/Chief Customer Officer at UMI, expressed her sincere gratitude at the amount raised. “Thanks to everyone who donated to Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital,” said Ann. “We couldn’t have done it without the outstanding support and generosity on everyone’s part!”
UMI is a longtime supporter of local and national charities such as Children’s Miracle Network, along with March of Dimes and Vickie’s Angel Foundation. With yearly monetary donations and volunteer work, the UMI team takes great pride in serving our local community.
